How we score neighbourhoods
Our neighbourhood score combines seven factors, each weighted by its importance to quality of life. We use only publicly available UK government data — no black boxes.
| Factor | Weight | Source |
|---|---|---|
| Crime rate | 25% | police.uk |
| School quality | 20% | Ofsted (DfE) |
| Transport links | 15% | Coming soon |
| Broadband speed | 10% | Ofcom |
| Green space access | 10% | Coming soon |
| Flood risk | 10% | Environment Agency |
| EPC efficiency | 10% | EPC Register |
The composite score is calculated as the weighted average of all individual factor scores. Each factor is scored from 0 to 100, where 100 is the best possible outcome. Factors marked “Coming soon” use a neutral default of 50 until data is available.
