A transparent 1–100 score for any UK postcode, combining crime rates, school quality, broadband speed, energy efficiency, and more. We publish the full formula so you can see exactly how the score is calculated.
Our neighbourhood score combines seven factors, each weighted by its importance to quality of life. We use only publicly available UK government data — no black boxes.
| Factor | Weight | Source |
|---|---|---|
| Crime rate | 25% | police.uk |
| School quality | 20% | Ofsted (DfE) |
| Transport links | 15% | OpenStreetMap (Overpass) |
| Broadband speed | 10% | Ofcom |
| Green space access | 10% | OpenStreetMap (Overpass) |
| Flood risk | 10% | Environment Agency |
| EPC efficiency | 10% | EPC Register |
The composite score is calculated as the weighted average of all individual factor scores. Each factor is scored from 0 to 100, where 100 is the best possible outcome. Sectors with no underlying data for a factor receive a modest default rather than dragging the overall score artificially low.
